Mississauga Youth Theatre 2012 Summer Productions
AUDITIONS
MYT is proud to announce two fantastic productions for this summer. This year, MYT is going to the classics of theatre…with a twist!
"SPIN"
A Musical Myth Inspired by the classical myth about a girl whose brilliant weaving rivals that of the gods, this exciting musical is set in ancient Greece but employs modern language, imagery, and contemporary music. This is sure to be a unique experience for everyone involved!
"A Midsummer Night’s Dream"
A full-length adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic romantic comedy about love, magic, fairies and misplaced affections. This exciting production will give young actors a chance to tackle classical text while performing one of the most fun and enchanting plays in the English Language.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR ACTORS, SINGERS, MUSICIANS, AND BACKSTAGE TECHNICIANS.
“SPIN” performances August 16-19
“MIDSUMMER” performances August 23-26
(Rehearsals start June 4. Approximately 1 per week in June and 2-3 per week in July & August.)
Auditions are MAY 25-27

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION: All the details regarding your audition will be sent to you once you email

to book an audition. In a nutshell, for “SPIN”, you will prepare a song and a monologue. For “MIDSUMMER”, you will prepare a monologue. We will email you some suggested materials for your audition, or you can bring your own song or monologue.
NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!! So don’t worry if this is the first time you audition. The audition panel is super-friendly!!
